4. Build your network

Your network is your net-worth. Build 1st degree connections, because these connections will increase your exposure and access to other connections who might be hiring.

5. Do your research

Do a research of who you want to work with. Research the companies and the people incharge. Make a list of these companies and follow them on LinkedIn to keep up with their latest news. This will come in handy when you are reaching out to them.

6. Use LinkedIn advances search

Use LinkedIn's Advanced Search option and do a search on your favorite companies. Get to know which of your connections work there and engage with them to learn more about the company.

7. Be active on LinkedIn

Even if you update your profile, you still need to be active on LinkedIn. This involves sharing content that clearly shows your skills and knowledge in your field. Be authentic, comment on other people's posts and join groups.
